Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once we were present with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He smiled. He said: Do you know what made me smile? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (I smiled) at a servant conversing with his Lord. That servant will say: O my Lord! Did You not protect me from injustice? The Lord will say: Yes, indeed. The servant will say: Then I will not accept the testimony of anyone against myself. There should be a witness from my own side. So the Lord will say: Today, your own self is sufficient as a witness against you, and the noble angels are also witnesses against you. Then a seal will be set upon that person's mouth, and it will be said to his limbs: Speak! Then those limbs will speak about his deeds. Then he will be given the chance to speak, and he will say: Away with you! Get away from me! I was arguing (with my Lord) to save you.
