Yaqub bin Asim narrates: I heard a man saying to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them): You say that the Day of Judgment will be established for such and such a period. So Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: At first, I had intended not to narrate any hadith to you, but then I thought that after a short while you will witness a great event. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The Dajjal will emerge among my Ummah and will remain among the people for forty (the narrator says): but I do not know whether it means forty days, or forty years, or forty nights, or forty months. Then Allah, the Exalted, will send Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) towards him. His appearance will be like that of Urwah bin Mas’ud Thaqafi. He will search for him and kill him. Then after that, he (Isa) will remain among the people for seven years. During this time, there will be no enmity between any two people. Then Allah, the Exalted, will send a wind from the direction of Syria. No person will remain alive in whom there is faith even equal to a mustard seed. That wind will seize his soul, so much so that if a person is in the cave of a mountain, the wind will reach him as well.
(Sayyiduna Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported) I also heard this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Then evil people will remain in the shelters of birds and the dens of beasts. They will not know any good, nor will they consider evil as evil. Satan will come to them in human form and will command them to worship idols, so they will begin to worship them. At that time, their sustenance will be abundant. Their lives will apparently be good. Then the trumpet will be blown; whoever hears it will fall down, and then no one will remain, every person will die. Then Allah, the Exalted, will send a rain which will be light. Here, the narrator named Nu’man is in doubt, or it will be heavy rain. With that rain, people’s bodies will begin to grow. Then the trumpet will be blown again, so the people will stand up and look around. Then it will be said: O people! Proceed towards your Lord.
(The command of Allah, the Exalted, is:) “Detain them, for they must be questioned.” Then it will be said: Take out from among them those destined for Hell. Then it will be asked: How many? It will be said: Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand.
(The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:) On that day, children will be resurrected in the form of old men, and on that day the shank will be uncovered (meaning the matter will be severe).
The narrator named Muhammad bin Ja’far says: Shu’bah narrated this hadith to us many times, and many times I also recited it before him.
