Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A person from among the people of Hell will be brought, and the Lord will say to him: O son of Adam, how did you find your abode? He will say: O Lord, it is the worst abode. The Lord will say: Are you willing to give as ransom the equivalent of all the gold on the face of the earth? He will say: Yes, my Lord. Then the Lord will say: You are lying. You were asked for something much easier than this (but you did not act upon it). Then he will be taken towards Hell.

If you had gold equal to the earth, would you give it as ransom? He will reply: Yes. Then it will be said to him: Something much easier than this was demanded from you, but you did not act upon it.
