أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " تَدْنُو الشَّمْسُ مِنَ الأَرْضِ ، فَيَعْرَقُ النَّاسُ ، فَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ عَرَقُهُ كَعْبَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى الْعَجُزِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى الْخَاصِرَةِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ عُنُقَهُ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ وَسَطَ فِيهِ " ، وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ ، فَأَلْجَمَ فَاهُ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُشِيرُ هَكَذَا ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُغَطِّيهِ عَرَقُهُ ، وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ إِشَارَةً .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "(On the Day of Resurrection) the sun will come close to the earth and people will be submerged in sweat. Some people's sweat will reach their ankles. For some, it will reach the middle of their shins. For some, it will reach their knees. For some, it will reach the lower part of their stomach. For some, it will reach their sides, and for some, it will reach their necks. For some, it will reach in between that." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) indicated this by moving his blessed hand towards his mouth.
The narrator says: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) indicating in this manner. Some of these people will be completely covered by their sweat. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also indicated this with his hand.
