Hadith 7263
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ شَبَابٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يُسَمَّوْنَ الْقُرَّاءَ يَكُونُونَ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، يَحْسَبُ أَهْلُوهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَيُحْسَبُ أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ أَنَّهُمْ فِي أَهْلِيهِمْ ، فَيُصَلُّونَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى إِذَا تَقَارَبَ الصُّبْحُ ، احْتَطَبُوا الْحَطَبَ ، وَاسْتَعْذَبُوا مِنَ الْمَاءِ ، فَوَضَعُوهُ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ حُجَرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ، فَبَعَثَهُمْ جَمِيعًا إِلَى بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ ، فَاسْتُشْهِدُوا ، فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَتَلَتِهِمْ أَيَّامًا " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some young men from among the Ansar, who were called the reciters (Qari), used to live on the outskirts of Madinah Munawwarah. Their families thought they were in the mosque, and the people of the mosque thought they were at home. These people would spend the night performing voluntary prayers, and when morning approached, they would gather firewood and fetch sweet water, and place these things at the doors of the chambers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sent all of them towards Bi’r Ma’unah, and there they were all martyred. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated against their killers for several days.
