Hadith 7236
Sayyiduna Khabbab bin Al-Aratt (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I kept observing the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which he continued to perform, until the time of true dawn (Fajr) was near. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished his prayer with salam, Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you. Tonight you performed such a prayer that I have never seen you perform a prayer like it before. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, it was a prayer in which both longing and awe were present. During it, I asked my Lord about three things; He granted me two of them and did not grant me one. I requested Him not to destroy us as He destroyed the previous nations, so He granted me this. I asked Him not to impose upon us an enemy from other nations who would overpower us, so He granted me this as well. I asked Him not to divide us into groups, but He did not grant me this.
