Hadith 7212
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Khaybar, I was sitting behind Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) and my feet were touching the blessed feet of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). We reached Khaybar. The people came out (of the fort) with their mattocks, shovels, and baskets. They said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his army have arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend into the field of a people, then the condition of those who were warned becomes bad. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fought with them and defeated them. When the spoils of war were distributed, it was submitted to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): A beautiful and attractive slave woman has come in the share of Sayyiduna Dihyah Kalbi (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) bought her in exchange for seven slaves (or slave women). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entrusted this woman to Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) so that she could prepare her. Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) used to participate in the battles with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for a dining cloth, it was presented, the cloth was spread, then dates and ghee were brought, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had hais prepared for all of them. The people ate it until they were full. The people asked each other: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) marry this woman or make her an umm walad? Others replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made her observe the veil, so she will be his wife. If he had not made her observe the veil, then she would have been considered an umm walad. When Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was about to mount the ride, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made her observe the veil until she sat behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the camel. Then when they approached Madinah Munawwarah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) quickened his mount, and the people also quickened their mounts. The women began to look out. The she-camel of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stumbled, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) fell down. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and made the woman observe the veil. The women said: May Allah keep this Jewish woman away. They spoke ill of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her).

Thabit narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): O Abu Hamzah! Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fall from his mount? He replied: Yes, by Allah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell from his mount, O Abu Muhammad!
