Lady Asma bint Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet (peace be upon him) stayed at the place of Dhi Tuwa, Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his daughter, who was the youngest of his children: "O my daughter, help me climb Mount Abu Qubais." Lady Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: At that time, his eyesight had gone. That lady narrates: I looked down from the mountain, and he asked: "O my daughter, what do you see?" The girl replied: "I see a large crowd of people." Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "These must be horsemen." The lady said: "I see a man who is coming and going ahead of them." Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O my daughter, he is their overseer, commanding the horses." Then the girl said: "By Allah, now the darkness is dispersing." Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "By Allah, now these horses will set off, so quickly take me to my house." The lady took him down with her, and before they reached the house, they encountered the horsemen. The girl had a necklace made of silver around her neck. A man came before the girl and took the necklace from her neck. The girl narrates: When the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered (Makkah) and came into the mosque, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) brought his father to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him). When the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw him, he said: "Why did you not leave this noble elder in his house so that I could have come to him myself?" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! He is more deserving to come to you than for you to go to him." The narrator says: Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) seated Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) in front of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed his hand over his chest and said to him: "Accept Islam." So he accepted Islam. The girl narrates: Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) brought him to the Prophet (peace be upon him) again, and at that time Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa's (may Allah be pleased with him) head was as white as the white flower called thaghama. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Change the color of his hair." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, took his sister's hand, and said: "I ask by Allah and Islam, who has my sister's necklace?" No one replied. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O my sister, hope for reward regarding your necklace. By Allah, today there is little trustworthiness among people."
