أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بِسْطَامٍ بِالأُبُلَّةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْبَرْمَكِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأُمَوِيُّ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : اسْتَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِرَاءَتِي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ ، قَالَ " يَا أَبَا مُوسَى ، اسْتَمَعْتُ قِرَاءَتَكَ اللَّيْلَةَ ، لَقَدْ أُوتِيتَ مِزْمَارًا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَوْ عَلِمْتُ مَكَانَكَ ، لَحَبَّرْتُ لَكَ تَحْبِيرًا .
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) heard my recitation at night. In the morning, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: O Abu Musa, last night I heard your recitation; you have been given a melodious voice like the family of Dawud. I said: O Messenger of Allah! If I had known of your presence, I would have recited even more beautifully.
