Hadith 7183
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When this verse was revealed, "You will not attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love," Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Allah Almighty has demanded from us regarding our wealth. I make you a witness that I have dedicated my land. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give it to your close relatives. So Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) distributed that land between Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him).
