Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) was standing in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) shooting arrows. Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tried to raise his head from behind him to see where his arrow had landed, Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) would broaden his chest to protect the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and would say: O Messenger of Allah! Remain protected behind me in this way. May Allah sacrifice me for you, and I will remain in front of you.
