أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَزَّرَتْنِي بِخِمَارِهَا وَرَدَّتْنِي بِبَعْضِهِ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَذَا أَنَسٌ أَتَيْتُكَ بِهِ لَيَخْدُمَكَ ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ لَهُ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ " ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَوَاللَّهِ إِنَّ مَالِي لَكَثِيرٌ ، وَإِنَّ وَلَدِي وَوَلَدَ وَلَدِي يَتَعَاقَبُونَ عَلَى نَحْوِ الْمِائَةِ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She had dressed me with one part of her sheet as a waist-wrapper and wrapped another part over my body. She said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), this is Anas. I have brought him to you so that he may serve you. Please supplicate to Allah for his goodness. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicated: O Allah, increase him in wealth and children. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Allah, my wealth is abundant and the number of my children and grandchildren is nearly one hundred.
