أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الشَّرْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ زَاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو نَهِيكٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ أَخْطَبَ ، قَالَ : اسْتَسْقَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ وَفِيهِ شَعْرَةٌ فَرَفَعْتُهَا فَنَاوَلْتُهُ ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ جَمِّلْهُ " . قَالَ : فَرَأَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلاثٍ وَتِسْعِينَ وَمَا فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ شَعْرَةٌ بَيْضَاءُ .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Akhtab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for water. I brought a vessel to him which contained water, and there was also a hair in it. I picked it up and held it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was looking at me. He said: O Allah, grant him beauty.
The narrator says: I saw him at the age of 93, and even then there was not a single white hair on his head or beard.
