أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ التَّمَّارُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ لِفُلانٍ نَخْلَةً ، وَأَنَا أُقِيمُ حَائِطِي بِهَا ، فَمُرْهُ يُعْطِينِي أُقِيمُ بِهَا حَائِطِي ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَعْطِهِ إِيَّاهَا بِنَخْلَةٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " ، فَأَبَى ، فَأَتَاهُ أَبُو الدَّحْدَاحِ ، فَقَالَ : بِعْنِي نَخْلَتَكَ بِحَائِطِي ، فَفَعَلَ ، فَأَتَى أَبُو الدَّحْدَاحِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي قَدِ ابْتَعْتُ النَّخْلَةَ بِحَائِطِي ، وَقَدْ أَعْطَيْتُكُهَا ، فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَمْ مِنْ عِذْقٍ دَوَّاحٍ لأَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " ، مِرَارًا ، فَأَتَى أَبُو الدَّحْدَاحِ امْرَأَتَهُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أُمَّ الدَّحْدَاحِ اخْرُجِي مِنَ الْحَائِطِ ، فَقَدْ بِعْتُهُ بِنَخْلَةٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، فَقَالَتْ : رَبِحَ السِّعْرُ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so-and-so has a date palm tree, and I want to use it to support my wall. Please instruct him to give it to me so that I may use it to support my wall. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give it to him in exchange for a date palm tree in Paradise. He did not accept this. Then Abu Dahdah went to him and said: Sell me your date palm tree in exchange for my garden. He agreed to this. Then Sayyiduna Abu Dahdah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I have bought that date palm tree in exchange for my garden, and I dedicate it to you; please give it to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: How many clusters of dates are there for Abu Dahdah in Paradise! He said this several times. Then Abu Dahdah went to his wife and said: O Umm Dahdah, leave the garden, for I have sold it in exchange for a tree in Paradise. The woman said: This is a profitable deal.
