Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: His father passed away and left behind nine daughters (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps the words are:) seven daughters (as heirs). Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I presented myself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he asked me: Jabir, have you gotten married? I replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: To a virgin or to a previously married woman? I replied: To a previously married woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Why did you not marry a young girl so that you could play with her and she could play with you, you could make her laugh and she could make you laugh? I replied: (My father) Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away and left behind nine (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps the words are:) seven daughters, and I did not like to bring a wife of their age among them, so I married a woman who would look after them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: May Allah bless you.
