أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ بِمَرْوَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ السِّنْجِيُّ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا تُقِلُّ الْغَبْرَاءُ ، وَلا تُظِلُّ الْخَضْرَاءُ عَلَى ذِي لَهْجَةٍ أَصْدَقَ ، وَأَوْفَى مِنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ شَبِيهِ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ " ، عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ ، قَالَ : فَقَامَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، أَفَنَعْرِفُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَاعْرِفُوا لَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: The earth has not carried anyone, nor has the sky shaded anyone, more truthful and more fulfilling of promises than Abu Dharr al-Ghifari. He resembles Sayyiduna Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him).
The narrator states: Sayyiduna Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, should we introduce him in this manner? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, you should introduce him in this way.
