Hadith 7131
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُكْرَمِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْبِرْتِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ ابْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْحَمُ أُمَّتِي بِأُمَّتِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَأَشَدُّهُمْ فِي أَمْرِ اللَّهِ عُمَرُ ، وَأَصْدَقُهُمْ حَيَاءً عُثْمَانُ وَأَقْرَؤُهُمْ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ ، وَأَفْرَضُهُمْ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، وَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِالْحَلالِ وَالْحَرَامِ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ ، أَلا وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَمِينًا ، وَأَمِينُ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : هَذِهِ أَلْفَاظٌ أُطْلِقَتْ بِحَذْفِ الْ " مِنْ " ، مِنْهَا ، يُرِيدُ بِقَوْلِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْحَمُ أَمَّتِي " ، أَيْ : مِنْ أَرْحَمِ أُمَّتِي ، وَكَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَأَشَدُّهُمْ فِي أَمْرِ اللَّهِ " ، يُرِيدُ : مِنْ أَشَدِّهِمْ ، وَمِنْ أَصْدَقِهِمْ حَيَاءً ، وَمِنْ أَقْرئِهِمْ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، وَمِنْ أَفْرَضِهِمْ ، وَمِنْ أَعْلَمِهِمْ بِالْحَلالِ وَالْحَرَامِ ، يُرِيدُ أَنَّ هَؤُلاءِ مِنْ جَمَاعَةٍ فِيهِمْ تِلْكَ الْفَضِيلَةُ ، وَهَذَا كَقَوْلِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلأَنْصَارِ : أَنْتُمْ أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ ، يُرِيدُ مِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ ، مِنْ جَمَاعَةٍ أُحِبُّهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِمْ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most merciful of my Ummah towards my Ummah is Abu Bakr, and the most severe regarding the matter of Allah is Umar, and the most truthful in modesty is Uthman, and the greatest scholar of Allah’s Book is Ubayy bin Ka’b. The greatest scholar of inheritance is Zayd bin Thabit. The greatest scholar of halal and haram is Mu’adh bin Jabal. Beware! Every nation has a trustworthy one, and the trustworthy one of this Ummah is Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah."
Imam Ibn Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) says: (In this hadith, the word "min" has been omitted in the words used, meaning the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said «ارحم امتی» by this is meant «من ارحم امتی» likewise, the statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): «وَأَشَدُّهُمْ فِي أَمْرِ اللَّهِ يُرِيدُ مِنْ أَشَدِّهِمْ وَمِنْ أَصْدَقِهِمْ حَيَاءً، وَمِنْ أَقْرِئِهِمْ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ، وَمِنْ أَفْرَضِهِمْ، وَمِنْ أَعْلَمِهِمْ بِالْحَلَالِ وَالْحَرَامِ». The intention of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is that this group is such in which this virtue is found. Its example will be according to the statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) which he said to the Ansar: "You people are the most beloved to me among all people." By this, he meant that among the people, you are among the most beloved to me and belong to the group whom I love, and those people were included in it.
