Hadith 7122
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، فَذَكَرْنَا حَدِيثًا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، فَقَالَ : ذَاكَ رَجُلٌ مَا أَزَالُ أُحِبُّهُ مُنْذُ شَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ : مِنَ ابْنِ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ ، وَمِنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، وَمِنْ سَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ، وَمِنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ " .
Masruq reports: We were present with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him). We mentioned a hadith regarding Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: He is a person whom I have loved since the day I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say—I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Learn the recitation of the Qur'an from four people: Ibn Umm Abd (that is, Abdullah bin Mas'ud), Ubayy bin Ka'b, Salim the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah, and Mu'adh bin Jabal."
