Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: There was a harsh exchange of words between me and Ammar bin Yasir. So, Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) went and complained about it to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) expressed harshness. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent. Then Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), do you not hear what he is saying? Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised his blessed head and looked towards me and said: Whoever harbors enmity towards Ammar, Allah will be his enemy, and whoever bears malice towards him, Allah will bear malice towards him.
Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) says: So when I left from there, nothing was more beloved to me than the pleasure of Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him). Then I met him (and apologized to him), and he became pleased.
