Hadith 7064
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ هُبَيْرَةَ بْنِ يَرِيمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : " قَرَأْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِضْعَةً وَسَبْعِينَ سُورَةً ، وَإِِنَّ زَيْدًا لَهُ ذُؤَابَتَانِ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I had recited (i.e., learned) more than seventy surahs before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at a time when Zaid bin Thabit had long hair and used to play with the children.
