أَخْبَرَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ أَرَّكِينَ الْفَرْغَانِيُّ بِدِمَشْقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَمَرَ أَبِي بِخَزِيرَةٍ فَصُنِعَتْ ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي فَحَمَلْتُهَا إِِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ ، فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا يَا جَابِرُ ، أَلْحَمٌ ذَا ؟ قُلْتُ : لا ، وَلَكِنَّهَا خَزِيرَةٌ ، فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَقُبِضَتْ ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعْتُ إِِلَى أَبِي ، قَالَ : هَلْ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ : هَلْ قَالَ شَيْئًا ؟ فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : مَا هَذَا يَا جَابِرُ ، أَلْحَمٌ ذَا ؟ فَقَالَ أَبِي : عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِ اشْتَهَى اللَّحْمَ ، فَقَامَ إِِلَى دَاجِنٍ لَهُ فَذَبَحَهَا ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَشُوِيَتْ ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي فَحَمَلْتُهُ إِِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا يَا جَابِرُ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، رَجَعْتُ إِِلَى أَبِي ، فَقَالَ : هَلْ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ : هَلْ قَالَ شَيْئًا ؟ قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : مَا هَذَا ؟ أَلْحَمٌ ذَا ؟ فَقَالَ أَبِي : عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِ اشْتَهَى اللَّحْمَ ، فَقَامَ إِِلَى دَاجِنٍ عِنْدَهُ فَذَبَحَهَا ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَشُوِيَتْ ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي فَحَمَلْتُهَا إِِلَيْكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " جَزَى اللَّهُ الأَنْصَارَ عَنَّا خَيْرًا ، وَلا سِيَّمَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامٍ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: My father ordered that Khazirah (a type of dish) be prepared. When it was ready, he instructed me to take it to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When I presented it to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he was in his house. He asked: "What is this, Jabir? Is it meat?" I replied: "No, it is Khazirah." By the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), it was accepted. When I returned to my father, he asked: "Did you see the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" I replied: "Yes." He asked: "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say anything?" I replied: "Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: 'O Jabir, what is this? Is it something with meat?'" My father said: "Perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) desires to eat meat." He got up and went to the goat, slaughtered it, and by his order it was roasted. Then he instructed me, so I took that meat to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When I reached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he was sitting in the same gathering. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "O Jabir, what is this?" I replied: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I went to my father. He asked: 'Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say anything?' I replied: 'Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: Is it something with meat?' My father said: 'Perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) desires to eat meat.' He went to his goat, slaughtered it, and by his order it was cooked. Then he instructed me, so I brought that meat to you." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "May Allah reward the Ansar on our behalf, especially Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram and Sa'd bin Ubadah."
