Abu Wa'il reports: We went to visit Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was ill. He said: We migrated with the Prophet (peace be upon him) seeking the pleasure of Allah, and our reward became due upon Allah. Some of us departed (from this world) without having enjoyed anything of their good deeds. Among them was Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with him), who was martyred on the day of Uhud. He left behind only a single sheet; when we covered his feet with it, his head would be exposed, and when we covered his head, his feet would be exposed. And now among us are those whose fruits have ripened and they are picking them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed us to place the sheet over his head and to put some idhkhir (a type of grass) on his feet.
