Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Zubair bin Al-Awwam, may Allah be pleased with him): We set out with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and we began to climb Mount Uhud. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) tried to climb a rock of it, but he was unable to do so. So Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaidullah (may Allah be pleased with him) placed his knee under the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stepped on his back and climbed up until he sat upon that rock. Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Talhah has made Paradise obligatory for himself.” Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) to come to the cistern. He brought water to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in his shield. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wanted to drink from it, but he sensed an odor in it, so he did not drink it. Then, with that water, the blood on the face of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was washed away. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The wrath of Allah will descend most severely upon those who have bloodied the face of Allah’s Messenger.”
