ذكر بعض ما أنزل الله جل وعلا من الآي وفاقا لما يقوله عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه-

أَخْبَرَنَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ بَحْرٍ الْخِضْرَانِيُّ الْحَافِظُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زَنْجُوَيْهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : " وَافَقْتُ رَبِّي فِي ثَلاثٍ أَوْ وَافَقَنِي رَبِّي فِي ثَلاثٍ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَوِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ : وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى سورة البقرة آية 125 ، وَقُلْتُ : يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكَ الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ ، فَلَوْ حَجَبْتَ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَأُنْزِلَتْ آيَةُ الْحِجَابِ ، وَبَلَغَنِي شَيْءٌ مِنْ مُعَامَلَةِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَقُلْتُ : لَتَكُفُّنَّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ لَيُبْدِلَنَّهُ اللَّهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ ، حَتَّى انْتَهَيْتُ إِِلَى إِِحْدَى أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا عُمَرُ ، أَمَا فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يَعِظُ نِسَاءَهُ حَتَّى تَعِظَهُنَّ أَنْتَ ، فَكَفَفْتُ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهَ عَسَى رَبُّهُ إِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَنْ يُبْدِلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ سورة التحريم آية 5 " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Regarding three things, my opinion coincided with the command of my Lord (the narrator is doubtful, perhaps these are the words) my Lord’s command coincided with my opinion. I submitted: O Messenger of Allah! If you make the Maqam Ibrahim a place of prayer, it would be appropriate. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: “Take the Maqam Ibrahim as a place of prayer.” I submitted: Righteous and sinful (all kinds of people) come to your service, so if you instruct the Mothers of the Believers to observe veiling (it would be appropriate), then the verse regarding the command of hijab was revealed. Then once, regarding a matter of the Mothers of the Believers, something reached me, so I submitted: Either you women of the Prophet (peace be upon him) will refrain (from causing distress to him), or Allah Almighty will grant the Prophet (peace be upon him) wives better than you. Until I went to the service of one of the Mothers of the Believers, and she said: O Umar! The Prophet (peace be upon him) never admonished his wives, and you go around admonishing them, so I refrained from this, but Allah Almighty revealed this verse: “If he (the Prophet) divorces you, his Lord will give him in exchange wives better than you.”
