Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I entered Paradise and saw in it a palace made of gold (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) and pearls. I asked: Whose palace is this? The people replied: This is the palace of Umar bin Khattab. So I did not enter it only because I know of your (Umar's) temperament and sharpness. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, would I ever show sharpness of temperament against you, would I ever show sharpness of temperament against you?"
