Hadith 6799
Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said, “O Messenger of Allah! I have heard that the Dajjal will have mountains of bread and rivers of water with him.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Despite that, he will be extremely insignificant in the sight of Allah Almighty.” Sayyiduna Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I used to ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) many questions about the Dajjal. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “He will not be able to harm you.”
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) denial to Sayyiduna Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Dajjal will have rivers of water with him is not contrary to the narration transmitted from Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), which we have mentioned earlier, because even if that happens, he will still be insignificant in the sight of Allah Almighty, that there will be a flowing river of water with him, and whoever sees it as water, it will not actually be water. In this way, there will be no contradiction between the two narrations.
