Asir bin Jabir narrates: A strong wind began to blow while we were present with Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) became angry, to the extent that we could see the signs of anger on his face. He said, “Woe to you! The Hour will not be established until inheritance is no longer distributed and people are no longer delighted with spoils of war. Then, pointing with his hand towards Syria, he said: The enemy will gather for the Muslims in that direction, then they will confront each other, and the condition will be set that they will fight to the death (and will not return). Only the one who prevails will return. They will continue fighting until the sun sets, then both groups will return, and no one will have disappeared, and the time of the condition will have ended. Then, the next day, the condition of death will be set again, that only the one who prevails will return. They will fight until the sun sets, then both groups will return, and neither will have prevailed, and the condition will have ended. Then, on the third day, the condition of death will be set again, that only the one who prevails will return. They will continue fighting until the sun sets, then both groups will return, and neither will have prevailed. Then, on the fourth day, there will be fighting between them, and they will fight them and drive them back, until blood reaches the necks of the horses, and the fighting will continue until the sons of one father will confront a hundred men, and they will be killed until only one man remains among them. Then, after that, how will inheritance be distributed, and with what spoils will happiness be attained? Then, the people will conquer Constantinople. While they are distributing dinars and shields, a great and distressing event will come upon them. The Dajjal will appear among your children, so whatever is in their hands, they will throw it away and come (to face him). They will send their horsemen. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They will be the best horsemen on the face of the earth that day. I know their names, the names of their fathers, the names of their tribes, and the colors of their horses.”
