Hadith 6784
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went with the Prophet (peace be upon him) along with some people towards Ibn Sayyad, until they found him playing with other children near the buildings of Banu Maghalah. At that time, Ibn Sayyad was close to reaching puberty. He did not realize it until the Prophet (peace be upon him) struck his hand on his back. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Ibn Sayyad: Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah? Ibn Sayyad said: Do you bear witness that I am the messenger of Allah? So the Prophet (peace be upon him) pushed him aside and said: I believe in Allah and (His true) Messengers. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him: What do you see? Ibn Sayyad said: A truthful one and a liar come to me. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: The matter has been confused for you. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him: I have thought of something for you. Ibn Sayyad said: It is "Dukh" (smoke). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: Go away, you will not go beyond your status.

Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted to the Prophet (peace be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to strike his neck. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: If you reach him, you will not be able to overpower him, and if you do not reach him, then there is no good for you in killing him.

Ibn Shihab says: Salim narrated this, I heard Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying: After this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) went towards the date-palm garden in which Ibn Sayyad was present. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered the date-palm garden, he began to hide himself among the branches of the date-palms. He wanted to hear something from Ibn Sayyad before he saw him. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw him, he was lying on a bed, covered with a sheet, from which a murmuring sound was coming. When Ibn Sayyad's mother saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) trying to hide behind the branches of the date-palms, she said to Ibn Sayyad: (The Prophet (peace be upon him) is here). So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If you had left him as he was (it would have been better).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) stood among the people, praised Allah as He deserves, then mentioned the Dajjal and said: I am warning you about him. Every Prophet has warned his people about him. Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) warned his people about him, but I am telling you something about him that no Prophet told his people: Know that he will be one-eyed, and indeed your Lord is not one-eyed.
