Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: At the time of the death of a caliph, there will be discord. Then a man from the people of Madinah, who is related to the Quraysh, will go towards Makkah. Some people from the people of Makkah will come to him and force him to come out, even though he will dislike it. Then they will take his pledge of allegiance between the Rukn and Maqam. Then an army from the people of Syria will be sent towards him. When they reach the place of Bayda, they will be swallowed up by the earth. When this news reaches the people, the Abdal from Syria and a group from the people of Iraq will come to him and pledge allegiance to him. Then a man from the Quraysh will come out, whose maternal relatives are from Banu Kalb. He will send an army towards them, but they will defeat that army and prevail over them. He will distribute their wealth among the people and act among them according to the Sunnah of their Prophet. That person will remain on earth for seven years. He will establish Islam firmly in the world.
