Hadith 6727
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي قَوْمٌ يَسْبِقُ أَيْمَانُهُمْ شَهَادَتَهُمْ ، وَشَهَادَتُهُمْ أَيْمَانَهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to us at the place of Jabiyah and said: Just as I am standing among you today, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us. He (peace be upon him) said: Treat my companions well, then those who come after them, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then lying will become widespread, to the extent that a man will give testimony on an oath about which he was not even asked. So whoever wants to enter Paradise should adhere to the (Muslim) community, for indeed Satan is with one person and is farther from two. And no man should ever be alone with a woman, for the third among them will be Satan. And whoever finds goodness pleasing and evil displeasing is a believer.
