Hadith 6718
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَن رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يُوشِكُ أَنْ لا تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقْبَضَ الْعِلْمُ ، وَتَظْهَرَ الْفِتَنُ ، وَيَكْثُرَ الْكَذِبُ ، وَيَتَقَارَبَ الزَّمَانُ ، وَتَتَقَارَبَ الأَسْوَاقُ ، وَيَكْثُرَ الْهَرْجُ " ، قِيلَ : وَمَا الْهَرْجُ ؟ قَالَ : " الْقَتْلُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah will not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people, but He will take away knowledge by taking away the scholars along with their knowledge, until when no scholar remains, people will take the ignorant as leaders. They will be asked questions and they will give answers without knowledge. They will go astray and will lead others astray as well."
