Hadith 6708
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ذِي مِخْبَرِ ابْنِ أَخِي النَّجَاشِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " تُصَالِحُونَ الرُّومَ صُلْحًا آمِنًَا حَتَّى تَغْزُوا أَنْتُمْ وَهُمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ ، فَتُنْصَرُونَ وَتَغْنَمُونَ وَتَنْصَرِفُونَ حَتَّى تَنْزِلُوا بِمَرْجٍ ذِي تُلُولٍ ، فَيَقُولُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ الرُّومِ : غَلَبَ الصَّلِيبُ ، وَيَقُولُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ : بَلِ اللَّهُ غَلَبَ ، فَيَثُورُ الْمُسْلِمُ إِِلَى صَلِيبِهِمْ وَهُوَ مِنْهُ غَيْرُ بَعِيدٍ فَيَدُقُّهُ ، وَتَثُورُ الرُّومُ إِِلَى كَاسِرِ صَلِيبِهِمْ ، فَيَضْرِبُونَ عُنُقَهُ ، وَيَثُورُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ إِِلَى أَسْلِحَتِهِمْ فَيَقْتَتِلُونَ ، فَيُكْرِمُ اللَّهُ تِلْكَ الْعِصَابَةَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ ، فَتَقُولُ الرُّومُ لِصَاحِبِ الرُّومِ : كَفَيْنَاكَ الْعَرَبَ ، فَيَجْتَمِعُونَ لِلْمَلْحَمَةِ ، فَيَأْتُونَكُمْ تَحْتَ ثَمَانِينَ غَايَةً تَحْتَ كُلِّ غَايَةٍ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا " .
Sayyiduna Dhi Mukhbir (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the nephew of Najashi, narrates: He said that he heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Soon you will make a peace treaty with the Romans, until you and they together will fight an enemy who is beyond them. You will be helped, you will remain safe, and you will gain spoils of war, until you camp in a pasture. Then a man from among the Romans will say: 'The cross has prevailed.' A man from among the Muslims will say: 'Rather, Allah Almighty has granted victory.' Then they will fight each other. The cross will not be far from the Muslims. A man from among the Muslims will advance towards it and break it. Then the Romans will advance towards the one who broke the cross and will behead him. Then the Muslims will go towards their weapons and the fighting will begin. Allah Almighty will honor them with martyrdom. The Romans will go to their king and say: 'We are sufficient for you to attack the Arabian Peninsula.' Then they will gather for war and come under banners, under each banner there will be twelve thousand men."
