Hadith 6661
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ إِِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ ، أَتَتْهُ قُرَيْشٌ ، قَالُوا : ثُمَّ يَكُونُ مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : " ثُمَّ يَكُونُ الْهَرْجُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Islam will remain dominant until twelve caliphs." The narrator says: Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said something which I did not understand. I asked my father: What did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say? He replied (the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said): All of these caliphs will be from the Quraysh."
