أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ بْنِ إِِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِِنَّ اللَّهَ إِِذَا أَرَادَ رَحْمَةَ أُمَّةٍ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ، قَبَضَ نَبِيَّهَا قَبْلَهَا ، فَجَعَلَهُ لَهَا فَرَطًا وَسَلَفًا ، وَإِِذَا أَرَادَ هَلَكَةَ أُمَّةٍ عَذَّبَهَا وَنَبِيُّهَا حَيٌّ ، فَأَقَرَّ عَيْنَهُ بِهَلَكَتِهَا حِينَ كَذَّبُوهُ وَعَصَوْا أَمْرَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointing towards the east and saying: "There will be tribulation from that direction, tribulation will be from that direction; from there the horn of Satan will emerge."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The east of Madinah is Bahrain, and Musaylimah the Liar also emerged from there, and his emergence was the very first innovation to appear in Islam.
