Hadith 6634
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلالٍ الصَّوَّافُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ الْمَدِينَةَ ، أَضَاءَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ ، أَظْلَمَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ، وَمَا نَفَضْنَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الأَيْدِي ، وَإِِنَّا لَفِي دَفْنِهِ ، حَتَّى أَنْكَرْنَا قُلُوبَنَا " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: A lahd (niche) was made for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and raw bricks were placed over it. The blessed grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was kept about one span above the ground.
