أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي وَجَعِهِ الَّذِي قُبِضَ فِيهِ : " صُبُّوا عَلَيَّ مِنْ سَبْعِ قِرَبٍ لَمْ تُحْلَلْ أَوْكِيَتُهُنَّ ، لَعَلِّي أَعْهَدُ إِِلَى النَّاسِ " ، قَالَتْ : فَأَجْلَسْنَاهُ فِي مِخْضَبٍ لِحَفْصَةَ ، فَمَا زِلْنَا نَصُبُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى طَفِقَ يُشِيرُ إِِلَيْنَا أَنْ قَدْ فَعَلْتُنَّ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: During the illness in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed away, he said: "Pour water over me from seven water-skins whose mouths have not been untied, so that I may feel some relief and be able to advise the people." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: We seated the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a tub made of brass belonging to Lady Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her). We poured water over the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) until he began to gesture to us that you have done enough, then he proceeded towards the mosque.
