Hadith 6587
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ ، قَالَتْ : أَوَّلُ مَا اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِ مَيْمُونَةَ ، فَاشْتَدَّ مَرَضُهُ حَتَّى أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : وَتَشَاوَرُوا فِي لَدِّهِ ، فَلَدُّوهُ ، فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ ، قَالَ : " مَا هَذَا ؟ أَفِعْلُ نِسَاءٍ جِئْنَا مِنْ هَا هُنَا ؟ " ، وَأَشَارَ إِِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ ، وَكَانَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ فِيهِنَّ ، فَقَالُوا : كُنَّا نَتَّهِمُ بِكَ ذَاتَ الْجَنْبِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " إِِنْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ لَدَاءٌ مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَقْذِفَنِي بِهِ ، لا يَبْقِيَنَّ أَحَدٌ فِي الْبَيْتِ إِِلا لُدَّ إِِلا عَمَّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " ، يَعْنِي عَبَّاسًا ، قَالَ : فَلَقَدِ الْتَدَّتْ مَيْمُونَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ، وَإِِنَّهَا لَصَائِمَةٌ لِعَزِيمَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Ubaidullah bin Abdullah narrates: I asked Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), I said: Tell me about the illness of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill. Blood started coming in his phlegm. We used to liken the phlegm that came out of him to the saliva of someone who eats dried grapes. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit all his wives in turn, but when his illness became severe, he sought permission from those women to stay with me, and those women would come to serve him. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my place, he came dragging his feet on the ground between two men. One of them was our master Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).
The narrator says: I related this hadith to our master Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), so he asked me: Did Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) not tell you about the other man? I replied: No. So he said: He was our master Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
