Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: One day, after participating in a funeral at Baqi’, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) returned to my home. I was feeling pain in my head. I said, “Oh, my head!” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Rather, I should say, O Aisha! Oh, my head!” Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There would be no harm to you if you were to pass away before me, for I would wash you, shroud you, offer your funeral prayer, and then bury you.” I said, “Yes, but after doing all that, you would return to my house and spend the night with your new wife.” At this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) smiled. After this, the illness of the Prophet (peace be upon him) began, in which he passed away.
