Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: A Muhajir and an Ansari beat each other. The Ansari said: O Ansar (come to my help), and the Muhajir said: O Muhajirin (come to my help). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard this. He said: What is this matter of calling out like the days of ignorance? The people said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! A Muhajir has struck an Ansari. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Leave this thing, for it is foul. Upon this, Abdullah bin Ubayy said: They have done this; when we return to Madinah, the honorable among us will surely expel the lowly ones from there. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Allow me to strike the neck of this hypocrite. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Leave him, otherwise people will say that Muhammad kills his companions.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "This thing is foul," by this he meant that there will be no retaliation (qisas) in it. Similarly, when people say: "This thing is blameworthy," or similar words, this is what is meant.

Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: There was a Jew from the tribe of Banu Zuraiq whose name was Labeed bin A'sam. He cast magic upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), to the extent that the Prophet (peace be upon him) would feel as if he had done something, even though he had not done it. This condition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) remained for a day and a night. The Prophet (peace be upon him) kept supplicating, and kept supplicating. Then he said: O Aisha! Do you know, Allah Almighty has given me the answer to that which I had asked Him about. Two men (i.e., two angels) came to me. One of them sat at my head and the other at my feet. The one who was sitting at my feet asked the one at my head: What is wrong with this man? He replied: He has been affected by magic. The first asked: Who has done magic on him? The other replied: Labeed bin A'sam. The first asked: In what thing? The other replied: In a comb, and in the hair stuck in the comb, and in the spathe of a male date-palm. The first asked: Where is it? The other replied: In the well of Dhi Zarwan.
The narrator states: Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to that well along with some of his companions. When he returned from there, he said: O Aisha! Its water was as if henna had been mixed in it, and the tops of the date-palm trees there were like the heads of devils. I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Why did you not have it burned, or have it removed? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has granted me well-being, so I did not like to cause any trouble among the people regarding this matter. By the order of the Prophet (peace be upon him), those things were buried.
