Hadith 6578
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلُوا سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ : بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ دُووِيَ جُرْحُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ، قَالَ : " مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ النَّاسِ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي ، كَانَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَجِيءُ بِالْمَاءِ فِي شَنَّةٍ ، وَفَاطِمَةُ تَغْسِلُ الدَّمَ ، فَأُخِذَ حَصِيرٌ ، فَأُحْرِقَ ، فَدُووِيَ بِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
The son of Abu Hazim narrates from his father: A man asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) about the wounding of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He replied: The face of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was wounded, his front teeth were injured, and the helmet was struck upon the head of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), was washing away the blood, and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was pouring water over it with a shield. When Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) saw that pouring water was causing more blood to flow, she took a piece of mat, burned it until it became ash, and then applied that ash to the wound, so the bleeding stopped.
