Hadith 6572
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا قَدِمَ كَعْبُ بْنُ الأَشْرَفِ مَكَّةَ أَتَوْهُ ، فَقَالُوا : نَحْنُ أَهْلُ السِّقَايَةِ وَالسِّدَانَةِ ، وَأَنْتَ سَيِّدُ أَهْلِ يَثْرِبَ ، فَنَحْنُ خَيْرٌ أَمْ هَذَا الصُّنَيْبِيرُ الْمُنْبَتِرُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ خَيْرٌ مِنَّا ؟ ، فَقَالَ : أَنْتُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ ، فَنَزَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الأَبْتَرُ سورة الكوثر آية 3 ، وَنَزَلَتْ : أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيبًا مِنَ الْكِتَابِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْجِبْتِ وَالطَّاغُوتِ وَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَؤُلاءِ أَهْدَى مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا سَبِيلا سورة النساء آية 51 " .
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). We were six men. The polytheists said: Keep these people away from yourself, these people are such and such (the narrator says:) I was there, Abdullah bin Mas’ud was there, there was a man from the tribe of Huzail, Bilal was there, and there were two other men, one of whom I have forgotten. The narrator says: So regarding this, whatever Allah willed came to the mind of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he thought about it in his mind (that we should remove these people from ourselves), so Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: “And do not turn away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure.” This verse is until: “the wrongdoers.”
