Hadith 6541
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : أَصَابَ النَّاسُ عَطَشٌ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ ، فَجَهِشَ النَّاسُ إِِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي مَاءٍ ، فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ مِثْلَ الْعُيُونِ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَمْ كُنْتُمْ ؟ قَالَ : لَوْ كُنَّا ثَلاثَ آلافٍ ، لَكَفَانَا ، وَكُنَّا خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Hudaybiyyah, the people became thirsty. The people submitted to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand in the water, and the water became like springs. The narrator says: I asked: How many people were you? He replied: If we had been three thousand, it would have sufficed for us; as it was, our number was fifteen hundred.
