Hadith 6530
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، شَكَّ الأَعْمَشُ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا كَانَ غَزْوَةُ تَبُوكَ ، أَصَابَ النَّاسَ مَجَاعَةٌ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " لَوْ أَذِنْتَ لَنَا ، فَنَحَرْنَا نَوَاضِحَنَا فَأَكَلْنَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : افْعَلُوا " ، فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِنَّهُمْ إِِنْ فَعَلُوا ، قَلَّ الظُّهْرُ ، وَلَكِنِ ادْعُهُمْ بِفَضْلِ أَزْوِدَتِهِمْ ، ثُمَّ ادْعُ عَلَيْهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ فِي ذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَطْعٍ ، فَبَسَطْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ دَعَاهُمْ بِفَضْلِ أَزْوِدَتِهِمْ ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِكَفِّ الذُّرَةِ ، وَالآخَرُ بِكَفِّ التَّمْرِ ، وَالآخَرُ بِكَسْرَةٍ ، حَتَّى اجْتَمَعَ عَلَى النَّطْعِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ يَسِيرٌ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا عَلَيْهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " خُذُوا فِي أَوْعِيَتِكُمْ " ، فَأَخَذُوا فِي أَوْعِيَتِهِمْ حَتَّى مَا تَرَكُوا فِي الْعَسْكَرِ وِعَاءً إِِلا مَلَئُوهُ ، وَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا وَفَضَلَ مِنْهُ فَضْلَةً ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِِلَهَ إِِلا اللَّهُ ، وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، لا يَلْقَى اللَّهَ بِهِمَا عَبْدٌ غَيْرَ شَاكٍ ، فَيُحْجَبَ عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) — (the narrator named A'mash is in doubt, perhaps) Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: During the expedition of Tabuk, people were afflicted with hunger, so they submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! If you permit us, we will slaughter our camels and eat them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to them: You may do so. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! If people do this, their riding animals will become few. Tell them to bring whatever extra provisions they have, and then you pray for blessing upon those provisions. Perhaps Allah, the Exalted, will create some way of goodness in it. The narrator says: So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked for a dining cloth, and it was spread out.
(The narrator says:) Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told the people to bring their leftover (food and drink) provisions. The narrator says: So one person brought a handful of barley, another brought a handful of dates, someone else brought a piece of bread, until a small amount of provisions was gathered on the dining cloth. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed for blessing upon it. Then he said: Start putting it into your vessels. The people began to fill their vessels, until they had filled every vessel in the army. They ate, and ate to their fill, and still some was left over. The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and indeed I am the Messenger of Allah. Whoever meets Allah with these two statements, without doubting them, will enter Paradise.
