Hadith 6528
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي دُكَيْنُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْبٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ ، فَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ : " انْطَلِقْ فَجَهِّزْهُمْ " ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِنْ هِيَ إِِلا آصُعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، فَانْطَلَقَ ، فَأَخْرَجَ مِفْتَاحًا مِنْ حُزْتِهِ ، فَفَتَحَ الْبَابَ ، فَإِِذَا شِبْهُ الْفَصِيلِ الرَّابِضِ مِنَ التَّمْرِ ، فَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ حَاجَتَنَا ، قَالَ : فَلَقَدِ الْتَفَتُّ إِِلَيْهِ ، وَإِِنِّي لَمِنْ آخِرِ أَصْحَابِي كَأَنَّا لَمْ نَرْزَأَهْ تَمْرَةً " .
Sayyiduna Dakin bin Sa’id Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I, along with some horsemen from my tribe, presented ourselves before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), “Go and arrange provisions for them.” He replied, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! There are only a few sa’ of dates.” Then he went, took out the key from his box, and opened the door, and there was a large heap of dates. We took from it according to our need. The narrator says: When I turned back towards that room, I was the last person to leave from there, but it seemed as if we had not taken a single date from it.
