Hadith 6508
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver the sermon leaning against a tree (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words), a trunk (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words), a piece of wood (or perhaps these are the words), or something else. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had a pulpit made and stood upon it, that thing began to weep near which (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to deliver the sermon). All the people in the mosque heard its crying sound. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to it (the narrator is in doubt), perhaps here he used these words, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over it (or perhaps these words were used), or the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) held it, so it became calm.
