باب المعجزات - ذكر ما كان يدفع الله جل وعلا عن صفيه صلى الله عليه وسلم مكيدة المشركين إياه من الشتم واللعن وما أشبههما-

Hadith 6503
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عنِ ابْنُ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ مِينَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ ، انْظُرُوا كَيْفَ يَصْرِفُ اللَّهُ عَنِّي شَتْمَهُمْ وَلَعَنَهُمْ " ، يَعْنِي : قُرَيْشًا ، قَالُوا : كَيْفَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " يَشْتِمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا ، وَيَلْعَنُونَ مُذَمَّمًا ، وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O servants of Allah! Consider how Allah has turned away from me the abuse and cursing of the people. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) meant the Quraysh. The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah, how did this happen? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They abuse 'Mudhammam' and curse 'Mudhammam' (i.e., the disbelievers of Quraysh, out of enmity, used to call the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) 'Mudhammam' instead of Muhammad, so the abuse and cursing would fall upon 'Mudhammam'). I am Muhammad."
