Hadith 6498
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا وَرَدَ بَدْرًا ، أَوْمَأَ فِيهَا إِِلَى الأَرْضِ ، فَقَالَ : " هَذَا مَصْرَعُ فُلانٍ ، وَهَذَا مَصْرَعُ فُلانٍ " ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا أَمَاطَ وَاحِدٌ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ مَصْرَعِهِ ، وَتَرَكَ قَتْلَى بَدْرٍ ثَلاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُمْ ، فَقَامَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا أَبَا جَهْلِ بْنَ هِشَامٍ ، يَا أُمَيَّةُ بْنَ خَلَفٍ ، يَا عُتْبَةُ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ ، يَا شَيْبَةُ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ ، أَلَيْسَ قَدْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًَّا ؟ فَإِِنِّي وَجَدْتُ مَا وَعَدَ رَبِّي حَقًّا " ، قَالَ : فَسَمِعَ عُمَرُ قَوْلَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ يَسْمَعُونَ قَوْلَكَ ، أَوْ يُجِيبُونَ وَقَدْ جَيَّفُوا ؟ فَقَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، مَا أَنْتُمْ بِأَسْمَعَ لِمَا أَقُولُ مِنْهُمْ ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ لا يَقْدِرُونَ أَنْ يُجِيبُوا " ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهِمْ ، فَسُحِبُوا ، فَأُلْقُوا فِي قَلِيبِ بَدْرٍ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived at Badr, he pointed towards the ground and said: This is the place where so-and-so will die, this is the place where so-and-so will die. By Allah! None of them moved even a little from their designated place. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) left the slain (disbelievers) of Badr lying as they were for three days, then he came to them. He stood by them. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Jahl bin Hisham! O Umayyah bin Khalaf! O Utbah bin Rabi’ah! O Shaybah bin Rabi’ah! Did you not find true what your Lord had promised you? I have indeed found true what my Lord promised me.
The narrator states: When Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) heard this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Are you addressing people who are dead? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you do not hear what I am saying any better than they do, but they do not have the ability to respond. Then, by the order of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), those people were dragged and thrown into a pit at Badr.
