Hadith 6488
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي وَرْقَاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " بَيْنَمَا امْرَأَةٌ تُرْضِعُ ابْنَهَا ، مَرَّ بِهَا رَاكِبٌ وَهِيَ تُرْضِعُهُ ، فَقَالَتِ : اللَّهُمَّ لا تَمِتِ ابْنِي حَتَّى يَكُونَ مِثْلَ هَذَا ، قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ لا تَجْعَلْنِي مِثْلَهُ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِِلَى الثَّدْيِ ، فَمَرَّ بِامْرَأَةٍ تُلْعَنُ ، فَقَالَتِ : اللَّهُمَّ لا تَجْعَلِ ابْنِي مِثْلَهَا ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِثْلَهَا ، أَمَّا الرَّاكِبُ ، فَكَانَ كَافِرًا ، وَأَمَّا الْمَرْأَةُ ، فَيَقُولُونَ لَهَا : إِِنَّهَا تَزْنِي ، فَتَقُولُ : حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ ، وَيَقُولُونَ : تَسْرِقُ ، وَتَقُولُ : حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Once a woman was breastfeeding her child. While she was nursing, a rider passed by her. The woman prayed: O Allah, do not let my son die until he becomes like this man (wealthy and prominent). The child said: O Allah, do not make me like him. Then he returned to the breast (and began to nurse again). Then a woman passed by there who was being cursed. The woman prayed: O Allah, do not make my son like this woman. So the child prayed: Then make me like her. As for the rider, he was a disbeliever. As for the woman, people were saying about her that she had committed adultery, but the woman was saying, 'Allah is sufficient for me.' People were saying that she had stolen, but the woman was saying, 'Allah is sufficient for me.'"
