Hadith 6484
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : ذَبَحْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ " ، فَنَاوَلْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ " ، فَنَاوَلْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِنَّمَا لِلشَّاةِ ذِرَاعَانِ ، قَالَ : " أَمَا إِِنَّكَ لَوِ ابْتَغَيْتَهُ لَوَجَدْتَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I slaughtered a (goat) for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Hand me the foreleg." I presented it before him, then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Hand me the foreleg." I again presented it before him, then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said again, "Hand me the foreleg." I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! A goat has only two forelegs." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If you had kept giving, you would have found it."
