Ibn Hibban

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) will be called, and he will say, 'O my Lord, I am present.' The Lord will ask, 'Did you convey (the message)?' He will reply, 'Yes, O my Lord.' Then the Lord will ask his nation, 'Did he convey the message to you?' The people will say, 'No warner came to us.' Then the Lord will ask (Sayyiduna Nuh, peace be upon him), 'Who will bear witness in your favor?' Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) will say, 'Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Then (the individuals of my Ummah) will bear witness that Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) did convey (the message).' And the Messenger (i.e., the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) will be a witness over those people. This is the meaning of Allah Almighty's statement: 'Thus We have made you a just Ummah so that you may be witnesses over mankind, and the Messenger may be a witness over you.' The word 'wasat' means just."
